About Me

Hello, my name is Patricia Hurff, welcome to my website! I have always loved painting and drawing. My first love was working in oils and painting landscapes and portraits of my grandchildren.  You can see them in my collection.

I did not choose art as my career however, it has always been my hobby. I recently retired from my career as a therapist, consultant with a human development firm, and university professor. A dear friend and colleague convinced me to take up watercolor painting with her.  When I first transitioned from oils to watercolor, to say it was challenging is an understatement! Oil is a “forgiving medium,” mistakes are easily corrected. I wondered if I would ever learn to enjoy watercolor painting! After five years and attending many workshops, I can see the positive results of staying with it – I now enjoy working in this challenging medium. I hope you enjoy looking at my paintings.
